Rainbow Roses: They Exist

Seen at the LA County Fair, these are real white roses dyed with injections made directly into the stem. Mellano and Company is one of the few US wholesalers to order them. Gay-wedding planners have never been happier.

ORDERING INFO:

I don’t sell these. You must call Mellano and Company (they are not on the company’s website) or call your local florist and have them place an order through Mellano & Co.

Gay wedding planners? Aren’t you being redundant?

  2. JustinSpace Says:

Saying “planners of gay weddings” was awkward.

  3. kostia Says:

When one adjective is meant to modify the next, not the noun that follows both, you hyphenate them. So it’d be “Gay-wedding planners.”

  4. The Capt'n Says:

You don’t have to be gay to appreciate psychedelic flowers. Give a bouquet of these babies to the next lass you meet at a hippie festival and watch what happens.

    Gay, indeed!

  5. Squidy Says:

    Eh? All weddings are gay

These roses are beautiful. It is terrible to think that someone who seems so excited about them would have to bring sexual preference anywhere in to this description. Also, if you are more worried about the correct grammer of “gay-wedding planner” and all weddings being “gay” why are you wasting your time commenting?

[Because it’s my blog and I can do what I want on it. And BTW, what you’re saying is that gay sex (or any sexual preference?) is a negative thing, capable of tainting something “beautiful.” Can we please move beyond the idea that sex is dirty. It’s often beautiful, and sex is a helluva lot more natural than those roses. - ed.]

You know I think it is repundent that those people have to associate the rain bow roses with the gay thing any way. why cant we just say hey there beutiful and wow there here and lets enjoy them. get the gay thing out of them please! I sugest those to enjoy them for the rose they are and keep the gay thing out of them.

I just got a dozen of these from my boyfriend who sees me as a little hippied out. I love them they’re so much fun!

Randy, Randy, my dear little brother. There is no such word as “repundent,” “rain bow” is one word not two –as is “any way”– and we capitalize the first letter of the first word in *all* sentences, not just those starting with the all-important “I” for your Randy self. Have you ever noticed how bigotry and a lack of education go hand in hand?

I saw them at It’s a Blooming Business Flower shop in the Fashion Square mall in Sherman Oaks. This cute flower shop in the mall is the only place in Los Angeles that seems to carry always these roses all the time. The roses aren’t cheap $9 each. http://www.itsabloomingbusiness.com

I don’t see why you guys are complaining about “gay” being attached to the roses. Being gay isn’t a negative thing so I don’t see why you are implying that it is. Stop being so close-minded and self-righteous. It just so happens that rainbows on flags represents gay pride and so a lot of gay people would appreciate rainbow roses and purchase. It’s an obvious connection between the two.

A connection is a connection. It’s not like they poster was exclusive about it & said they were ONLY for gay people.

I’m a florist in Port Angeles and what they call rainbow roses are individually very small dyed roses and then with sparklies of the same color all over them. They are gorgeous as well. But they are $10 per stem and were coming out of Canada. Who knows what the price of those are now. These are just gorgeous. I have a lot of hippie friends that are into tie dyed T-Shirts and they would just love these!

  13. Arvind Says:

well rainbow roses are always available at mellano and company, al the LA flower Market. and FYI they sell for just 3.50$ a stem, so it would be cheaper if you directly contact them, or just walk into the market any day of the week after 6.am
